I agree, i think they were making the woman match the instrument... how bizarre.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26430351.post-5261011623651523432008-03-10T21:05:00.000-04:002008-03-10T21:05:00.000-04:00HAhahahahaha!HAhahahahaha!athenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16251735691407730047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26430351.post-63129434703850519982008-03-10T14:17:00.000-04:002008-03-10T14:17:00.000-04:00You know, that's EXACTLY what I was thinking when ...You know, that's EXACTLY what I was thinking when I looked at this: "NOBODY looks like this... well, except maybe Tracey. But for anyone else this is such an unreasonably high standard." ;)the damehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12198483122054652116noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26430351.post-62200939809936042332008-03-10T13:36:00.000-04:002008-03-10T13:36:00.000-04:00/I think it's in poor taste to go around making wo.../I think it's in poor taste to go around making women look like cellos./

Hahahahahahaha!

But I TOTALLY look like that when I sit half-naked in my bathroom -- my bum draped in satin, my hair in a careless-but-gorgeous up-do with a perfect tendril floating down my back -- posed in front of a huge mirror so I can see myself to infinity while I play my cello.athenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16251735691407730047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26430351.post-70523868666505435712008-03-10T10:33:00.000-04:002008-03-10T10:33:00.000-04:00I generally like the Kohler ads because they are v...I generally like the Kohler ads because they are visually arresting.

But yeah, the whole "Let's make a difficult-to-achieve standard of beauty IMPOSSIBLE by airbrushing everyone and then not telling folks" kind of offends me.

Especially since I have the sort of bod that would have been revered in, say, the 1600s, but is categorically dismissed as "too fat" and too rounded these days.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26430351.post-45645167951258848792008-03-10T09:19:00.000-04:002008-03-10T09:19:00.000-04:00I guess I can see how it would look that way. It's...I guess I can see how it would look that way. It's just that print media is what I do for a living. People with MY job alter these photographs and fudge the perception of what is possible with our fancy computer software. I have always felt that making adjustments to the human body - when it isn't intentionally obvious (Lanvin ads are a great example of a more obvious and therefore more responsible approach) - is reckless and damaging.

It's like the Dove commercial that made the rounds and that I posted on here. The average consumer doesn't always realize that NO ONE is that thin, that perfect, that surreally supple. It encourages unhealthy body images. I cannot help but notice.the damehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12198483122054652116noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26430351.post-9069552927982384412008-03-10T08:38:00.000-04:002008-03-10T08:38:00.000-04:00im thinking you have too much time on your hands i...im thinking you have too much time on your hands if you noticed this!
